To ignite a boiler, fuel oil is primarily used to pre-heat the combustion chamber of a furnace to its operating temperature, which consumes a large amount of oil, especially for igniting low-volatile coal. To save the oil, the plasma-chemical preparation and tiny-oil ignition technology are developed to ignite pulverized-coal. However, it is difficult to apply them to anthracite and lean coal.
